There should be a healthy relationship between the therapist and the client to promote productivity of a therapeutic process. Therapy abuse can be defined as the use of imbalance power possessed by individuals offering therapeutic services to manipulates exploit and control the clients.

In most cases people tend to seek therapeutic services with an intention of improving their situation. This includes improving their relationship and resolving psychological challenges. However, individuals who are not able to develop such things are more prone to abuse. This is due to the fact that they have past experience of such scenarios and might not be able to separate between a violation process and therapeutic process.

According to various research findings, abused or abandoned children are likely not to develop self-esteem, appropriate boundaries and self-worth. However, if a client has not developed such things they are prone to be target for abuse. Since, they have experienced an abuse in the past, they might not be able to distinguish between therapeutic and violation process.

One can recognize whether they are at risk of being a victim of such abuse. For instance, if something seems off, you need to trust your instinct and seek an alternative therapeutic assistance. When you have realized that your therapist seems to be unprofessional, humiliating, degrading, intimidating, making suggestive, sexual or erotic comments among others.

One might be wondering about where can seek help in case of such problems. You need to talk to a friend, parent or spouse in the event of such occurrence. You can also seek information from the websites about individuals or organizations that can help in such situations. One can also seek another therapist. In addition, you can contact legal counsel, or file a board complaint or talk to the police.

In case of such problems individuals need to engage persons who will not worsen their situations. This can include talking to parents, relatives, spouse and friends. Should also seek information from online data bases to find out appropriate organizations and individual whom they can reports such eventualities. In addition, you can file complain through the board, legal suit or contacting the police. These will effective assist in ensuring that the process yields the expected outcome. Selecting individuals who are professionally trained and are licensed to provide such services will produce the expected outcome.
