The Structure Of Email Marketing Copywriting

By Essie Osborn

Email marketing is one of the most useful tools for digital marketing campaigns simply because everyone has emails and everyone would check their emails from time to time as well. Now email marketing copywriting is not just about randomly putting messages and shooting them into the emails of people. There is actually a specific way to write emails for marketing purposes and a specific structure that one may follow so that their mail message will actually be effective.

When writing promotional emails, one has to make sure that he persuades the contact to respond by following the four Ps of persuasion. Following this structure will allow the marketer to grab the attention of the person, make him interested in the offering, show him that it is credible, and make him buy it on the spot. These four Ps would make up the entire structure of the message.

Now for the promise, this is the tag line that is supposed to grab the attention of the target audience. This is usually put in the title of the mail and would actually be the very first thing that the reader would actually see. Since it is the first thing that the reader will see, it has to be attractive enough for him to read the rest.

Now as for the the picture, this would be a descriptive message that would actually make one want to form a sort of picture or image inside his head of the product or service. Now the message that would show the picture is found in the body of the email and is usually the longest part. Included would be a description of what the product or service is like.

After that, one has to now write a message that would serve as proof that the claims that were in the mail are actually true. Some people make use of statistics or studies to prove their point. There are also others who would make use of testimonials from people to prove that every claim is indeed true.

The last P would be the push which would now urge the reader to avail of the product right away. This message is used so that the consumers will be engaged. When the message directly talks to them, they will feel the need to buy that product or avail of that service in a hurry.

Now one last tip in email marketing would be to always put some pictures in the message. A message without pictures will bore the reader and will not make him want to continue reading it anymore. So put some very nice pictures in the message to try keep the attention of all the readers.

Now if people do not respond, do not take it personally as the structure is not foolproof. One should only expect a handful of people to respond as not everyone will be interested in the product. However, just remember that its a numbers game and one should just shoot as many emails as he can to leads.
