Wings In Miamisburg Christian Church

By Patty Goff

Going to church every Sunday and within the week is something Christians should not neglect. The Miamisburg Christian church is one sure place where burdens are lifted and people are refreshed before God. This is possible with the presence of units such as the drama, prayer, choir, welfare, follow up and Bible study. These teams have their leaders but the pastor oversees all their activities for a common goal.

The choir unit is a place where people who want to serve the Lord with their voice meet together. Every week, they rehearse songs to render on the next Sunday or any other major gathering. The choir is well equipped with modern musical instruments and anyone who is gifted is welcome. Moreover, they also welcome first timers who have never sung before but have the urge to serve God with singing.

A group of people come together on certain occasions to let the congregation understand certain principles of the Bible. They are members of the drama group who work in line with the church's theme or the pastor's message or on any special revelation from God. Dramas can be acted on rapture, honesty and many more. Members of this group are always prayerful.

The prayer wing is a place where matters are presented before God. Members are encouraged to present their requests to God by writing them to the prayer department. It appears God answers the prayers offered by this group because almost everyone comes with testimonies anytime there is a meeting

To prevent people from going to hell and increase the number of people who should qualify for Heaven, the evangelism team goes from house to house preaching the gospel. Owing to their role in the church, they are sometimes charged with the responsibility of increasing the church number. They also do this by organizing crusades.

The follow up team works together with the evangelism group. The evangelism group informs the follow up unit about the people they meet during their outreaches so that they can plan strategies on how to make them fully committed to Christ and the fellowship. By so doing, they obey Christ's injunction to cater for the young sheep.

Members who are in need of money or other physical needs can boldly walk to the welfare team to make their requests. Needs such as money for payment of children's school fees can be quickly met by the group. Since this unit tends to know more of the people in the congregation, they also forward their special requests to the prayer wing.

The Bible study unit of the church cannot be neglected amongst the congregation. They are in charge of developing Bible study outlines as well as follow up guides for the new converts. People in this group must have personal relationship with God and the ability to hear from Him. They must be filled with the Holy Spirit who gives one the ability to interpret what is written in the scriptures.
