Don't Lose A Diamond While Chasing Glitter

By Evan Sanders

It took me a while to realize just how important it is to focus on quality over quantity.

Maybe it's the world we have grown up in or something else completely, but there seems to be a compelling urge for people to get infatuated with going for quantity vs. quality. Who knows why this really is, but the results are known. When you end up going for quantity over quality, your life cheapens completely and you are surrounded by a whole bunch of stuff that doesn't really have much value to it.

Life has an interesting way of only opening doors and opportunities to us when we expand past our current boundaries. When we look to bring the best out in ourselves, these doors open to us because we are seeing and experiencing life in ways we haven't before. But this only happens when we decided to take on a challenge that will make us grow.

I believe the great majority of people are disappointed in life not because they aim too high and miss, but because they aim too low and hit.

You have to be willing to make the sacrifices necessary today in order to see a better tomorrow.

You must be willing to put your name next to a goal and keep yourself accountable to it.

Above all, you must be willing to continuously raise the bar for yourself in order to become something great. Good is never good enough. Excellence is the goal.

When you search for happiness, you will never find it. Happiness is a fleeting emotion just like any other emotion in the book. However, if you come to a place of gratitude for what you have now and appreciation for the opportunity you have to build something new in the future, then happiness will find you.

A whole lot has been written about being happy in this world, and yet we've never had more suffering. People constantly try to tack on new skills and habits and always find themselves back in the same place. Happiness is not something that should be sought out, but a result of you doing the healing and inner work necessary to move forward in your life.

The bedrock of your greatest self will be built on sacrifice. Are you really willing to do the things today that others do not do? Are you willing to do the things that you know you are really capable of but are very tough? It is hard to look yourself in the face often and say, "I'm going to compete with my potential today."

Sacrifices will be the foundation your new life is built upon.

Be your own hero today.
