The Different Teachings Of The Olive Grove Baptist Church

By Maria Mitchell

A church is a special place. It is more than just the building. It is the collective gathering of believers for the purpose of praise and worship. The first church was in Jerusalem, Israel. The first Christians managed to take the gospel far and wide. According to the Great Commission of Christianity, Christians should take the good gospel to all the four corners of the world. When Christianity reached Europe, Roman Catholicism started. Later, there was the Great Reformation that led to the Protestant Movement. The Olive Grove Baptist Church is part of the Protestant congregation.

The Southern Baptist movement is the biggest Protestant congregation in the United States of America. As a matter of fact, most Americans are Baptists. A good number of the founding fathers were Baptists. America is a Christian nation. It was founded on Christian principles. That is why it is one of the most successful nations in the world.

The number one teaching of the Baptist Church is the teaching of morality. As a matter of fact, morality exalts a nation. However, sin is a reproach to any society. Moral living has earthly and eternal rewards. Immoral living has earthly consequences and an eternal punishment in the scorching fires of hell. Actually, hell is real. It is not fiction.

A true Christian will follow the moral path of life. He will think moral thoughts and all his actions will be moral in every sense and respect. Being moral in Christianity means fully abiding to the Ten Commandments. Of all the commandments that were given to human beings, there is no commandment that is greater than the commandment of love.

Churches usually teach people to avoid sin. Actually, sin is a very dangerous thing. Sin came to the world through two people. They are Adam and Eve. These people sinned when they allowed themselves to be deceived by the serpent to eat the fruit of the middle tree. Since them, human beings have continued committing unspeakable sins.

Luckily, there is the Christian teaching of baptism. This should be a relief to any sinner. The good news is that no matter the number of sins that a person has committed in his life, they will all be washed away by baptism and a person will become a new creature. Of course, there is always a second chance.

It is important to remember that this is the age of grace. In this age, there is grace for even a sinner who has committed the vilest sins. Such a sinner can be baptized and he will be forgiven of all sins and no account of sin will be held against him. However, the window of grace is quickly closing.

All teachings of the Baptist Church come directly from the Bible. This is the holiest book in Christianity. The Holy Bible is the most translated book on earth. Scripture is available in hundreds of language. The Bible is holy and true. It never lies. Heaven and earth will pass away but no single word of Scripture will pass without being fulfilled.
