You Can't Yank On A Flower To Make It Grow Faster

By Evan Sanders

There's an old saying that I really love. It goes something similar to - you can't yank on a flower to make it grow much faster.

How extraordinary is that?

Developing true patience must be one of the hardest things to really develop. But without patience, we really don't give ourselves the chance to see things totally through. Furthermore, there are several things in this world that call for our patience and will only develop when we really bring it into our lives. Sometimes there's half finished business we still have with somebody or we are simply giving something the space and time to grow and develop. Think about all of your dreams. Oftentimes, our dreams don't occur because we truly aren't yet the person who can truly accomplish them. In reality that's almost always so. We are not getting what we want so we can grow into the person we need to be to finally achieve our biggest wishes.

Patience is the key to permitting our future to unfold in front of us without our projections onto it. Patience, is the power to stay utterly present in the time given to us without trying to live forward.

This is hard. Really hard.

A great deal of the time we wish to make things turn out precisely in the way in which we see them in our mind. The real difficulty with this is that we are endeavoring to control a place that really is truly uncontrollable. Often, the future unfolds in totally different strategies than what we expected it to be. This isn't always inevitably a bad thing though. Rather, this can be an absolute present giving us what we really needed in our lives instead of what we wanted. Wouldn't you rather just live in that place - a place of complete possibility and opportunity?

When we let go of what we think should occur, we make allowance for life to truly surprise us.

Develop some patience. Everything will come to you in the appropriate time.
