Hynek And Close Encounters UFOs Scales

By Douglas Anderson

Since the inception of film, there have been many movies made about aliens and flying saucers. When it comes to Close Encounters UFOs, the movie Close Encounters Of The Third Kind is often considered one of the best portrayals of an unidentified flying object and associated experiences. For, a UFO sighting describes an event in which an individual witnesses something unknown in the sky. It was not until 1972 and a book written by J. Allen Hynek's book The UFO Experience: A Scientific Inquiry that the term UFO became so widespread. It should be noted that anything which can not easily be identified is often considered a UFO.

A book related to unidentified flying objects, written by J. Allen Hynek is believed to have been largely responsible for the huge interest of close encounters since it was released in 1972. In the book, a close encounter is described by an individual whom witnesses having seen some type of UFO. Regardless of such sightings, UFOs remain an aspect of the paranormal along with demons, ghosts and spirits.

It was Hynek's scale which was used in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, distributed to theaters in 1977. In fact, the movie was named after the third level of Hynek's scale. Perhaps, this is what made the movie more believable than others.

With regards to Hynek, the scientist generated a six encounter scale map which could be used in identifying different types of UFOs and encounters. The scale is based on different locations and actions of the objects. While not an actor, the scientist also made a cameo in the film.

Known as a scientist, Hynek created a six encounter mapping device which could be used in identifying different types of UFOS and alien behaviors. Based on different actions, movements and locations, others became interested in finding out whether these vessels were only a part of science fiction, or if there truly were visitors from outer space.

In the first level, ground radar, such as that seen in the movie Contact and a UFO confirm a presence on a radar screen. It should be noted that since early on in research, radar has never been considered a reputable method of confirmation. For, radar propagation often shows a number of blips which can represent a number of different elements floating or flying through space.

As shown in the movie, Close Encounters of The Third Kind, the third level includes some type of animated being such as robots or humanoids whom seem to be occupants or pilots of a UFO. While the fourth level represents evidence of an abduction of a human by a UFO or occupants. While not referenced, face to face meetings with species from another planet would most likely be represented at this level.

The third scale includes some type of animation between UFO occupants and humankind. Whether that be androids, humanoids or robots which were pilots or passengers of a vessel. Whereas, the fourth scale represents evidence of the abduction of a human or other entity by a UFO or occupants. While humans are often noted for initiating communication with other species, abductions, experiments and tests are often initiated by aliens and are rarely of a consensual nature.
