An Analysis On Indoor Team Building Activities

By Elena McDowell

Working with other employees and employer in an organization can both be fun and disgusting and the choice to make the experience either good or bad depends on you. It does not entirely depend on you per se because there other workers in the same organizations. However, a failure to take part in indoor team building activities could lead to loss realization because when people working in the same company do not know each other, there is a likelihood of inefficient performance.

Even with that well said, companies, organizations and small and big business establishments still ignore the concept of coming together as a team. It is quite an annoyance never mind about your colleague in the workplace and yet you work in the same setting. This is not because of pride, but a problem from the administration side.

The key factor is that, most companies have witnessed a failure in their operations and organizations gone almost to a point of downfall due to lack of teamwork. If you are working in a place where you do not know any employee, it is more likely that you will never deliver to the expected level. In fact, the ignorance of teamwork tasks makes a working group to deliver inferior results, fail to meet set deadlines and operate improperly.

The primary objectives of such tasks are to strengthen the bond between and among people working in an organization. In fact, they help people from different departments in an organization or company to get to know each other. It should not be a challenge coming together especially when it is time to do so.

Playing Hometowns game is one great factor to consider. Here, you place a map of the United States of America or of the location you are in, allow every member in the group, and indicate where they came from. Allow each member in the group to talk about him or herself, especially how they ended up in their current location.

Blindfolding is one such game that could help spice up teamwork. Let members in a group eyes fold one or several members in the group. Place an item on a table, station the table in a challenging but safe spot, and ask the blindfolded persons to find the items. This task has teachable lessons perhaps describing the reason why you need the other person as a colleague at your place of work.

Balloon Balance is one of those games that helps teach you that something that seems impossible is actually doable. It therefore helps to introduce the concept of supporting people at the place of work, through working together for a common good, to find solutions to those problems that seem difficult to solve. Balloon Balance is a game you do not want to miss playing.

Balloon Keep Up is among indoor team building activities that teach how to solve problems through thinking. Of course, you have to think how you are going to stand to keep the balloon up without falling it. You definitely will need creative thinking to win this game, and the same applies when it comes to solving problems.
