The Key To Coping Is Stress Resilience

If a person is stressed because of things like his job or his own personal issues, then both his body and mind will be experiencing stress. Now this type of thing would lead to an emotional breakdown because of all the things that are happening. Of course in order for people to cope with this, they have to have stress resilience.

Now for those who do not know, this is known as the ability of a person to be able to bounce back or fight back with a positive attitude even though he is facing some sort of adversity or trauma. This means that even though he is experiencing some kind of negative event in his life, the effects on him are minimal. It is actually possible to achieve this kind of state of mind.

It is a common misconception that resiliency is a character trait that people display and is something that one would actually be born with or would get right away once an adverse situation turns up. Now the truth to this matter is that it is actually a process. One does not become a resilient individual in just one day.

Basically, this characteristic is somewhat like a defense mechanism that would actually help a person adapt to the current situation. The level of resiliency of a person would differ from individual to individual because there are some people who are really able to cope with adversity better than others. Resiliency has a lot to do with self confidence because if one knows how to be able to handle the situation, then he will definitely know how to cope with it.

People who possess this quality are generally aware of what is going on. In other words, they know what the situation is all about and they know how they are going to handle it so that they will be able to survive. With regard to their own emotions, they know what exactly they are feeling and why.

The characteristics of these kinds of people will also show in the kinds of friends that he has. People like this know that they cannot be alone which is why they would always have a solid support group that would always back them up when a catastrophe strikes. In order to be able to cope with the bad things happening in their lives, they definitely would need a few helping hands to give them some aid and also some moral support.

Strangely enough, one of the most crucial things that a resilient fighter would possess would be a sense of humor. Even in the worst of times, they would still make light of the situation. This is simply because they know that if they feel bad, nothing will happen which is why they would decide to just brush it off instead.

So basically, those are some things that one would want to know about psychological or emotional resilience. It is all about adapting to whatever situation is going on. If a person can adapt to bad things that happen in his life, then he will be able to survive.
