The Single Lie Running Your Entire Life

By Evan Sanders

Really?

Absolutely. There's a huge lie that has been running your entire life and you didn't even know it.

It's not your fault.

This narrative that everyone has been fed is incredibly powerful.

If you take what I'm about to say seriously, it will change your entire life.

Not joking. How do I know? It changed mine.

Here's the lie you have been fed - there's this magical place where everything will turn our perfectly.

Give me a second to explain.

Imagine you are in a rowboat heading towards this "island where it all turns out." This island is the land of where all your dreams, hopes, aspirations, and goals come true...and when you get there...you will be happy. Because this is so compelling, you are rowing your butt off to get there. But there's one major problem with all of this...

This island doesn't actually exist.

It's a amazing mirage.

It's the sexiest mirage you've ever seen and it will keep you rowing and rowing and rowing until your arms fall off because you think that's where your happiness lives.

Even worse, all of this running to a nonexistent place ruins your life.

When you live this way, you think that your happiness will only exist on this little island and that everything in your life has to be moving to that place.

It will bring out anxiety, fear, doubt, worry, and pretty much every other negative emotion in the book because you aren't slowing down at all and constantly seeking a place you will never get to.

This will exhaust you drip by drip.

Everyone has been fed this great lie of "the island where it all turns out" in one way or another and it stops them from truly living as happily as they could be. Most never get the opportunity to shift their perspective on how they can live their life and they end up chasing this island until the end of time.

Ever heard of mid-life crisis? Bingo.

So how can you change?

Be amoebic.

A what?! Yes, an amoeba...you know those ever-shifting microscopic creatures that you probably studied in some science class along the way? Ok I guess I'll have to explain further.

When you can start living life with some fluidity, you give yourself the opportunity to adapt and adjust to anything that's happening.

Here's where it gets even better.

This type of living brings out incredible things in you. Because when you are focusing on what's actually developing in your life, you jump off the timeline, you start living more in the present and focus on "what's actually here or what's going on?" and you exit the future.

This is when you truly exit living in the future and chasing something that never existed.

You are present.

There's no telling what's possible for you.

So stop chasing what doesn't exist and live in the present moment. It will change your life.

End your running.

It will save you.
