Valuable Perspectives Of Tempe Liberal Church

By Linda Kennedy

In the present world, there have been many attempts by the scholar to bring forth various interpretations of Christian religion but all the time with notable differences. There have also been attempts to bridge the gap, but still, there is a rift between the conservative and the modern liberals who have different views of the same scriptures. Following are some valuable viewpoints of Tempe liberal church.

Of the most argued principle is the authority of scripture interpretation. The conservatives maintain that there should be an authority house to offer an interpretation, not everyone or third parties. The modern liberals allow the contributions of science in explanation of various aspects of nature and mystical human experiences. They advocate for a reformist approach encompassing knowledge of the present.

They also have another task of revolving the world into a better place for everyone. This could be seen as a contrary view of the coming of a new fair world ruled by the Christ as sited in scriptures. They explain that they believe in the coming of such an authority but also wants people and more so Christians to create a good place for everyone rather than stay without doing anything.

It is also their pillar that the religion should be credible and relevant to the modern social setup. It is open to modern judgments based on intellectual in connection with inquiries about nature and even on perspectives given by modern social science. It promotes the need for an ethical way of life and supports the moral concept of atonement. It is to make the gospel relevant to modern society.

There is also an emphasis on the issue of what is the truth. There are analogies and forms and even symbols set to portray certain truths. This has led to some forms and symbols been taken as the real truth and withdrawing focus from the original truth. This is not accepted by liberals who want changes in such beliefs and educates for changes that will lead to real truths, not signs and representations.

It is also in their understanding that all the controversy seen at various platforms in disagreements of various truths and facts is because of the language. The main idea is that the basic belief is the same only the packaging is different. They explain the interpretation from one language to another and presentation of analogies are the main concerns not lack of belief.

On the issue of historical accuracies of various gospel passages and facts, their stand is that there are not crucial as long as Jesus is seen in each of those narrations. In other words, their main focus is what is said in connection with the ministry of salvation as a major faith organ in faith. They do not focus on how well are passages aligned in various books, but the message presented.

According to them, true religion is based on the way of Christ not all existing doctrine about the Messiah. They argue that this religion is a faith, not a doctrine of Christ where its main focus is learning about Christ. Their belief is the Christ himself and his main goal of saving mankind.
